Uttarakhand Primary Teacher Recruitment 2025 – The Department of Education, Government of Uttarakhand, has issued a government order for the recruitment of 1649 Assistant Teacher (Primary) posts in government primary schools across the state. This is a significant opportunity for the youth of the state to become government teachers.
The Uttarakhand School Education Department has invited applications for vacant posts of Basic Teacher (Primary Teacher) in primary schools located in all districts across the state, including Almora, Bageshwar, Chamoli, Rudraprayag, Haridwar, Pauri, Dehradun, Tehri Garhwal, Udham Singh Nagar, Uttarkashi, Pithoragarh, Champawat, and Nainital. Eligible male and female candidates can apply through the prescribed application form starting from November 8, 2025.

Required Qualification
- A graduation degree from a university established by law in India.
- A two-year diploma in Elementary Education (D.El.Ed/BTC/Special Education/four-year B.El.Ed) or an equivalent diploma/degree.
- The above qualifications must be from an institution recognized by the National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE).
- Must have passed the UTET-I / CTET-I examination.
- All documents must be valid up to the last date of application.
Age Limit
The minimum age is 21 years and the maximum age is 42 years. Age relaxation for reserved categories will be applicable as per rules.
Selection Process
The selection will be based on merit according to the “Uttarakhand State Primary Education Service Rules 2012 (Amended 2025).” Seniority, qualifications, and reservation will be applied.
Reservation
All horizontal and initial reservations will be as per the latest government orders of the state administration. The number of reserved posts may increase or decrease.
Important Instructions
- Candidates must be native residents of Uttarakhand or hold a permanent residence certificate.
- Candidates who have passed High School and Intermediate from a recognized institution in Uttarakhand are eligible. Government employees working in the state or their children are also eligible.
- Posts will be divided into 50% for the Science stream and 50% for the Non-Science stream.
- Assistant teachers who are already in service will not be eligible to re-apply.
