UKSSSC Assistant Teacher Recruitment 2025 Eligibility Criteria

Mandatory Qualification – The candidate must possess a B.Ed. degree in Special Education from a university or institution established by law in India or approved by the Rehabilitation Council of India and should have a U.R.C.I., C.R.R. registration number.

  • A six-month diploma/training in a priority elective area of General Education.
  • The training program must be recognized by the National Council for Teacher Education or the Rehabilitation Council of India.
  • The candidate must pass the U.T.E.T.-2 / C.T.E.T.-2 exam to be eligible for appointment/selection as a Special Education Teacher.

Note: As per Uttarakhand Government Order No.–163 dated 04 March 2016, Government Order No.–867 dated 13 November 2017, and Government Order No.–209832/XXIV-A-1/2024-70142/2024 dated 09 May 2024, candidates passing the U.T.E.T.-2/C.T.E.T.-2 exam must secure the following minimum marks in each category:

Preferential Qualification: – In case all other factors are equal, preference in direct recruitment will be given to candidates who:

  • Have served in the Territorial Army for a minimum of two years, or
  • Have obtained a ‘B’ or ‘C’ certificate from the National Cadet Corps.

Written Examination Syllabus and Evaluation Process:

(i) For the selection of posts, there will be a competitive examination of 100 marks consisting of objective-type multiple-choice questions (Objective Type with Multiple Choice). The exam will be of 2 hours duration and will include questions related to the educational qualifications required for the post.

(ii) A minimum of 45% marks is required for General and OBC candidates, and a minimum of 35% marks is required for Scheduled Caste (SC) and Scheduled Tribe (ST) candidates. Candidates failing to meet these minimum marks will be considered ineligible in the written examination.

Reservation:

i. As per the latest provisions of the government orders, the following vertical reservations are allowed in the total approved sanctioned posts in Uttarakhand:

  • 19% for Scheduled Castes (SC),
  • 4% for Scheduled Tribes (ST),
  • 14% for Other Backward Classes (OBC), and
  • 10% for Economically Weaker Sections (EWS).

The reservation has been provided in the advertisement as per the roster obtained from the recruiting department.

ii. As per the latest provisions of the government orders, the following additional (horizontal) reservations are allowed in Uttarakhand:

  • 30% for women of Uttarakhand,
  • 5% for ex-servicemen of Uttarakhand,
  • 2% for dependents of freedom fighters,
  • 4% for persons with disabilities (Divyangjan),
  • 5% for orphans,
  • 4% for skilled athletes, and
  • 10% for identified protesters of the Uttarakhand state movement.

iii. The reservation for Economically Weaker Sections (EWS) will be provided only to those candidates who are not eligible for reservation under Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes, or Other Backward Classes. Candidates who wish to apply under the EWS category are expected to submit an EWS certificate issued between 01.04.2025 and 07.10.2025 (last date of application), based on the financial year 2024-25 and valid for the financial year 2025-26.
